Kelce’s brother Travis also showed support to the G.O.A.T.

Fans were shocked and disappointed to discover that Jason Kelce had ever questioned the incredible abilities of Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles.

The surprise came during a recent episode of his podcast, “New Heights,” which he co-hosts with his younger brother, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce. The retired Eagles center admitted he initially doubted Biles’ chances at the recent Summer Olympics in Paris.

Jason mentioned his concerns about the 27-year-old gymnast’s age, noting that she was older than most of her competitors. “We watched like every [Team USA gymnastics] girl go and do the floor routine, and Simone Biles was the last person, and I’m like, you know she’s getting older. She’s a little bit… we’ll see how she looks,” the former Philadelphia Eagles player said. Travis responded with confusion, “There’s no way you really thought this.”

Despite his little brother’s disbelief, Jason stood by his doubts, explaining, “When you go look at the age of gymnasts, they’re usually not in their mid-20s to late 20s. They’re usually young. They usually don’t age and sustain well later.”

Online fans quickly voiced their displeasure with Jason’s comments, with one X user defending Biles, writing, “Age is only a number. She proved she can compete with the best.”

Jason’s perspective shifted dramatically after witnessing Biles’ performance, sharing, “She is the anomaly because she jumped higher than everybody, and it wasn’t even close.” Seemingly, this is a reference to the star famously soaring 12 feet in the air while tumbling in her floor routine.

Biles ultimately solidified her status as the most decorated Olympic gymnast in history following her withdrawal from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics due to the twisties.
