Emma Watson’s fans have been waiting for a “Harry Potter” reference to her upcoming film, “Beauty and the Beast” which will be released worldwide in a few weeks. Thus, they have finally got what they wanted as they looked intently on the teasers released of the upcoming Disney film.
There have been a lot of things linking Emma Watson’s role as Belle in “Beauty and the Beast” and as Hermione Granger in the famous “Harry Potter” franchise. Both characters are game-changers especially in raising the banner of feminism, which does not go far from the actress herself who portrays these roles. Watson has always wanted to make a statement about being a strong and independent woman all on her own and there is no better way to flaunt such quality than by portraying roles of such as well. Thus, playing Belle in “Beauty and the Beast” is definitely fit for the actress. However, according to Inquisitr, it has been noticed that a hint of a “Harry Potter” reference was brought into light in one of the teasers of the Disney movie.
For the Disney fans out there, they may be more familiar of the songs being sung in the original “Beauty and the Beast” Disney animated film. In the upcoming film this year, some of the songs were made to be closely similar to the originals ones. That includes Belle’s solo performance of a song entitled after her, “Belle.” it can be recalled that the original version tells the tale of a conversation between Belle and a certain baker who interrupts her words. However, in the upcoming movie, a few things were altered wherein Belle approaches Monsieur Jean and asked if he lost something again to which he responds with “I believe I have. Problem is, I can’t remember what” as reported by Teen Vogue.
The avid “Harry Potter” fans jumped for joy after linking that line with a conversation between Hermione Granger and Neville Longbottom in the first movie franchise of the book. There is a chance that this dialogue between Belle and Monsieur Jean may just be coincidental. There is no denying the fact that they could have made a slight reference to “Harry Potter” in the “Beauty and the Beast” movie to honor Watson’s roles in both adaptations.
