Patrick Beverley said the Israeli club made him an offer he couldn’t refuse, saying goodbye to the NBA after 12 years playing for eight different teams.
After 12 years playing in the NBA, leaving many funny moments for fans through “crowning” and teasing opponents, Patrick Beverley said goodbye to the American Professional Basketball League.
Sharing this information directly on his personal podcast, the 36-year-old veteran said he will sign a contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv Club of the Israeli professional league.
Patrick Beverley will leave the NBA to join Hapoel Tel Aviv, an Israeli club that competes in the EuroLeague European tournament system.
This is the decision Patrick Beverley made after about 2 weeks of waiting for a contract that he thought was suitable in the NBA.
It is known that a team offered to keep Pat Bev with a minimum salary (about 3.3 million USD in one year) and he considered this number with what he received at Hapoel Tel Aviv Club.
Beverley did not reveal details of his new contract in Israel, but he said it was an offer “he couldn’t refuse”.
“They gave me everything I wanted and just like that, I couldn’t refuse them ,” the 1988-born defender said on his podcast.
Patrick Beverley played for 8 different clubs in 12 years playing in the NBA
Patrick Beverley played his last NBA season for the Philadelphia 76ers before being traded mid-season to the Milwaukee Bucks. He played a total of 73 regular season games for both teams, averaging 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists in just over 20 minutes of play per game.
In addition to the above stats, the greatest value that Beverley brings to his teammates is his spirit. He is the type of player who is not afraid of collision, willing to do everything in defense to help the team win.
The concept of “doing it all” was literally true for Pat Bev as he was willing to “trash-talk”, defend fiercely or even fight and scuffle with opponents. Beverley sometimes crossed the line and received many technical fouls, including a number of disqualifications.
Patrick Beverley’s “teasing” and teasing of opponents always brings laughter to NBA fans.
Patrick Beverley began his basketball career playing overseas, playing for clubs in Ukraine, Greece and Russia before returning to the NBA for the 2012-13 season.
Since then, Beverley has played for eight different teams including the Houston Rockets, LA Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers and most recently the Milwaukee Bucks.
On average throughout his career, the 1988-born guard averaged 8.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists in a total of 666 matches.
