Pat McAfee shared his controversial thoughts on WNBA star
Caitlin Clark won’t believe what ESPN was allowed to say about her on live TVAP
W hether it is the physical beating she is taking on the court or the way she is talked about off of the court, there seems to be no line that can’t be crossed when it comes to Caitlin Clark. Today on ESPN, Pat McAfee pushed the boundaries in his monologue about the Indiana Fever star, calling her a “white b*tch” with no remorse.
Clark drama dominates ESPN
His segment on Monday’s Pat McAfee Show, which airs live on ESPN, was all about the fallout from the incident between Clark and Chennedy Carter in the days since the Fever beat the Chicago Sky
The former NFL punter was not the only ESPN figurehead to land in hot water while discussing Caitlin Clark on Monday, as Stephen A. Smith was called out by Monica McNutt on ESPN First Take for being a part of the problem in the way people walk about women’s basketball.
Will Pat McAfee get in trouble for Caitlin Clark comments?
Stephen A. may not have been safe on his own show, but McAfee is. The power sports network licenses McAfee’s show instead of producing it themselves, giving the controversial host leverage to break network cursing rules, criticize ESPN officials, and let Aaron Rodgers come on and say whatever the hell he wants.
Despite his unsavory reference to Clark, many viewers of the show appreciated McAfee for his well-researched segment once they saw beyond the cursing. He made a powerpoint full of stats, arguing that Caitlin Clark is being covered so heavily because of her achievements, not because she is white, as many suggest.
The ballsy ESPN host was willing to risk getting clipped up on social media and getting in huge trouble with ESPN just to make the point that Clark is the reason people are watching the WNBA. In doing so, he got a lot more people talking.
