Reports broke earlier today regarding Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) and her husband’s separation. The AEW star has now come out and confirmed the divorce rumors.

News broke earlier in the day that the AEW TBS Champion and her husband of eight years, Sarath Ton were no longer together and that they were headed for a divorce. A few hours after the news broke, Mercedes Mone posted a video on her YouTube channel.

An emotional and teary-eyed Mone confirmed the rumors as true and said that she was happy she was going to be free and did not have to be afraid any longer. She also talked about having kept her marriage troubles a secret as it was her private matter and she didn’t want outside interference or judgment.

“Tomorrow, finally after a long, long time, I will be finally signing my divorce papers. And I am excited. I am happy. And for me, I am just ready to be free. I am ready to be free of not being afraid. And for so long, I have kept this secret because of how fast life has been going and so much that has been happening over wrestling and I just did not want the outside world to judge or say anything,” she said. It was reported that Mercedes Mone and her husband have been separated for years and have decided to legally announce their split only now. Her former husband is a costume designer in WWE and they tied the knot in 2016.
