Biles is widely considered the greatest gymnast of all time, and she furthered that reputation with a gritty performance in qualifying on Sunday.
Despite suffering a calf injury during a floor routine warmup, Biles finished the day with the highest overall score count in the team final on Tuesday. setting her up beautifully to add to her gold medal
Biles shared some photos from Sunday’s qualifying on her Instagram. Fans – including 12-time Grammy Award winner John Legend – flooded Biles’ comment section with messages of support.
“You make us proud,” he wrote.
