WNBA fans abuzz over Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend’s controversial birthday shenanigans with Theo Von (Photos from Clark’s IG and Theo Von’s story)
WNBA fans on X (formerly Twitter) expressed concern for Caitlin Clark after American comedian Theo Von posted an Instagram story featuring her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, at a party. The story showed several bottle girls near McCaffery.
Although bottle girls—women who serve VIP tables where guests buy liquor by the bottle—are common at parties, some fans on X raised their eyebrows.
A Caitlin Clark fan page on X, @CClarkReport, suggested that the Indiana Fever rookie should distance herself from McCaffery.
“Get him away from CC this instant she deserves better,” the page said.
User @BatsintheBelfri added:
“The way he is eyeballing and dancing with that woman and then realizes he is on camera. He was looking at her like she was his next snack. Naw, that man ain’t faithful lol.”
“That’s not what my queen deserves🤧” said @sfckid.·Meanwhile, other fans urged not to make major assumptions about their relationship based on a single Instagram story, especially given that Caitlin Clark and Connor are good friends with Theo Von, who posted the story.
“Nobody needs to be making assumptions. We know nothing about what’s going on and Theo is a friend of Caitlin’s. Calm down,” said @Faith4Love4Hope.
“Has no one ever went out and had fun on their birthday? Friends surprised him with this. It’s hilarious. Just let people have fun and laugh. Everyone has to make something out of nothing All. The. Time,” said @MLThomas07.
“Y’all are acting weird it’s his birthday. he went out with friends in broad day and those are bottle girls,” added @RellyDaGoat23. Who is Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend Connor McCaffery?
Caitlin Clark, the rising star of women’s basketball, is in a relationship with another sports personality, Connor McCaffery.
The couple’s love story began in the spring of 2023 when they were both students at the University of Iowa. McCaffery, a former University of Iowa basketball player, is now pursuing a coaching career with the Indiana Pacers.
With Clark joining the Indiana Fever, they can continue their relationship in close proximity.
“It’s great, obviously it makes the transition a little bit easier,” Clark said (per IndyStar).
“You’ve got people that know the city, and obviously Connor being there is tremendous. I couldn’t imagine a better place to start my professional career.”Though their relationship has mostly been private, fans have shown curiosity, especially with Clark’s emergence as a sports icon.
In her birthday post for McCaffery, Clark wrote:
