WWE Superstar Bayley has had her hands full with several unofficial handicap encounters. While she later spoke to Nick Aldis and defeated her attackers in official matches, she faced a major loss on SmackDown. To add insult to injury, this loss could be replicated at SummerSlam on August 3, 2024, and end her title reign.

Bayley partnered with her friend Mia Yim to face off against the tag team of Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton. The heel superstars assaulted Michin and neutralized her right after her entrance before the match began.

This put The Hugger in another semi-handicap match, which she lost against the duo of her nemesis Jax and Stratton.

Mia Yim eventually returned to the ring after recovering, but she was too spent to make an impact. Although Bayley had singlehandedly gained control of the match and had almost secured a win, The Buff Barbie hit her with the MITB briefcase. This allowed Queen Nia to execute the Annihilator and pin the WWE Women’s Champion down.

While this was supposed to be a tag team match, it foreshadowed how the champ might fare at SummerSlam without any allies. She would face the same odds in Cleveland, with Stratton ready to interfere anytime during the match and helping Nia Jax.

Moreover, Miss Money in the Bank could also blindside her and cash in her contract to steal the championship. It would be interesting to see how The Role Model prevents SummerSlam from becoming a repeat telecast of her defeat on SmackDown.
