A’ja Wilson orchestrated another victory for defending champions Las Vegas Aces on Sunday. Wilson put the Aces on her back and dragged the team to an 89-77 win over the Washington Mystics at the Entertainment and Sports Arena.
A’ja Wilson dropped a huge double-double performance as Las Vegas improved to a 16-7 record and jumped to 1st place in the Western Conference standings.
The 2023 WNBA Finals MVP scored 28 points in 36:03 minutes and shot 12-of-19 from the field. The 2-time league MVP grabbed 17 rebounds, including four boards on the offensive end.
It was another historic performance from Wilson, who is primed to win her third regular-season MVP award. The 2-time WNBA champion scripted numerous records with her scintillating outing against the Mystics.

Wilson is the first player in history to average 25+ points and 15+ rebounds over a five-game span. Her streak began on July 5 when she scored 35 points and grabbed 12 rebounds against the LA Sparks.
In the next game, Wilson scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against the Dallas Wings on July 7. Against the Seattle Storm on July 10, the 27-year-old scored 24 points and grabbed 20 rebounds.
Wilson followed it up with a 33-point and 18-rebound game against the Atlanta Dream on July 12. On July 14, Wilson dominated with a sizzling double-double display against the Mystics.
