Caitlin Clark Sets WNBA Record In Last Game Before Month-Long Break

Caitlin Clark made her reputation as a scorer. But she can also dish it out.

Clark set the WNBA record for the most assists in a single game tonight, recording 19 against the Dallas Wings.

The record previously was held by Courtney Vandersloot, who had 18 in 2020.

Clark had a chance to get 20 assists, but her pass in the paint in the closing seconds was picked off thanks to stout defense by Dallas. Clark finished with 24 points to go with her assists record.

Clark had 13 assists through three quarters, tying her previous career-high. She then ripped off six more in the fourth, giving her 11 in the second half alone.

The record wasn’t enough, though, as Clark’s Indiana Fever were upset by the Wings, who entered the contest at 5-19.

Clark now has done double digit assists in seven of her last nine games. It’s also the fourth time in five games she’s had at least 13 assists.

Clark will play in the All-Star Game this weekend. But because of the Olympicss, that will be her last action until mid-August.
