In a shocking turn of events that has come to light, AEW President Tony Khan recently had a secret meeting with WWE legend Shane McMahon. A new report has disclosed potential details of their interaction.
According to WrestleTalk and Fightful, the meeting took place in an office at a private Arlington airport on July 29, 2024, during the afternoon. Sean Ross Sapp mentioned that, according to sources, Khan and McMahon discussed the “possibilities moving forward” during their interaction.
Sapp also stated that Tony Khan has been open to having talks with Shane McMahon for a while, but the two seemingly hadn’t met or spoken to each other before rumors about Shane-O-Mac’s potential move to AEW surfaced.
It was also added that Khan has been “very open” to using the former WWE Hardcore Champion for several weeks now and was also receptive to having talks with McMahon when the topic was brought up backstage. Fightful further reported that a briefing hasn’t been given about the meeting as of Tuesday.
Tony Khan has commented about Shane McMahon in a positive manner whenever asked about the same in interviews. It remains to be seen whether this meeting leads to a deal that could see McMahon in All Elite Wrestling somewhere down the line.
