Travis Kelce recounted how Patrick Mahomes’ mind-blowing skills as a rookie ended up demoralizing the defense at practice.

Usually in the NFL, when assessing a quarterback’s career, it’s typically observed that he gradually grows and evolves into a legend. While there have been many great quarterbacks in the league’s history, there have hardly been many to achieve prominence in his rookie year and maintain the level of excellence consistently over time.

One such name is Patrick Mahomes– who is widely considered the face of the NFL since the departure of Tom Brady and potentially the future G.O.A.T. The stories of his astounding rookie year were recently recalled by his teammate and best friend, Travis Kelce in the recent episode of the Pardon My Take podcast.

The Kansas City Chiefs star TE recounted how the elite quarterback displayed mind-blowing skills even as a rookie, during a practice drill with the defense that ended up making them demoralized.

Honestly, his best plays might have been on that scout team going against the number one defense in his rookie year. The sh*t he was doing in those practices was mind-blowing. He had no filter. He was just out there like, ‘Oh well, this doesn’t matter. I could just throw over here.’ The defense is just demoralized in practice. They’re like, ‘What the f**k? This kid’s dyson is up, right?’

The nine-time Pro Bowler further stated that he observed the reigning Super Bowl MVP play significantly well consistently, week after week, leading the team to the playoffs as the number one seed in the conference and destroying Denver Broncos’ defense, which was known as the number one defense in the league.

But when asked if there’s any one team in specific who gives him the thrill of competing, the name that came to his mind was Las Vegas Raiders.
