It took their early 2024-25 NFL season to 2-0 after beating the Baltimore Ravens in a thriller during Week 1 of the campaign.

However, the Chiefs gave away the ball three times during the Bengals game, including two interceptions by Mahomes, 29.

And Reid has made it clear to his quarterback and the rest of the offense that there’s work to be done to get their year going.

“Turnovers, they finish you. They seldom give you an opportunity to win the game,” he said.

“We came out with a win, but we’ve got to take care of business there.”

Mahomes and the offense struggled through the Bengals’ win, failing to deliver their usual fluency.

And the two-time MVP-winning QB admitted himself he was not up to his usual best.

“I thought we did a lot of good things, but the turnovers can’t happen,” Mahomes said.

“We’re going to clean up the mistakes on offense, it starts with me.

“We’ll be a better team for it moving forward.”

Reid also sent his team a message after the huge loss of Isiah Pacheco.

The running-back is set to miss at least six weeks with a broken fibula.

The Chiefs were forced into signing ex-player Kareem Hunt as his replacement on Tuesday.

But Reid is confident his offensive options and new RB can fill the gap left by Pachecho.

The Chiefs flashed their latest piece of jewelry at a special ceremony on Thursday, June 13.

The new bling features the years of Kansas City’s Super Bowl wins – 1969, 2019, 2022 and 2023.

It also has a handwritten drawing of Andy Reid’s ‘Tom and Jerry’ play which won Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Kansas City beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime in February.

And the rings feature 22 diamonds to represent the points Kansas City scored in the second half and overtime.

Nineteen diamonds also represent their 11 straight winning seasons and eight AFC West titles in a row.

While there is also commemorative patch for the late Norma Hunt, the matriarch of the family which owns the Chiefs who died last summer.

“We’ll go with the guys that we have here for now,” he said.

“Veach is going through his lists and looking at people.

“We’ll just see where that goes, but we’re blessed to have some good people here.

“I have confidence in them. I just haven’t experienced it with them.”

Pacheco, 25, could even be out for longer than his set period, and is likely to be put on injured reserve.

After reports that Pacheco could be sidelined for up to a month, Reid warned, “It’ll probably be more than that.”

The Chiefs will now have Hunt, Carson Steele and Samaje Perine to pick from in the running-back area.

Fans of the Super Bowl winners have described their offense as “mixed” on social media so far this season.
