Mahomes’ comments come after he and his wife enjoyed an outing with Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce at The US Open

PATRICK Mahomes received compliments after speaking on the conflict between his wife, Brittany, and Taylor Swift.

The Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback opened up about politics as his wife and the music icon have been in a controversy concerning former President and 2024 Republican nominee Donald Trump.

On Wednesday’s practice, the three-time Super Bowl champion was asked about the situation between the two and whom he would support.

“I don’t want my place and platform used to endorse a candidate or do whatever, either way,” Mahomes said to reporters.

He then continued, “Whenever I’m hanging out with whoever, I’m not thinking about their political views.

“I’m thinking about the people and how they treat other people.”

NFL fans applauded Mahomes for his answer on politics and his wife.

“We should all be more like Patrick,” one said.

“Perfect answer,” a second commented.

“Young man was raised right,” a third added.

It was speculated that the liked post caused a rift between Swift and Brittany.

The two had enjoyed numerous Chiefs games together in the stands and were seen having fun in other public settings.

Their conflict was debunked after Swift’s boyfriend and Chiefs star Travis Kelce, the 14-time Grammy winner and the Mahomes family enjoyed the US Open together last weekend.

Last month, Patrick and Brittany took a trip to Swift’s Rhode Island mansion.

They were spotted with the singer, Kelce as well as other celebrities including the Hollywood couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.

Brittany doesn’t seem to be worried about losing her friendship with Swift or anyone over politics.

“Contrary to the tone of the world today … You can disagree with someone, and still love them,” the NFL wife wrote late last month.
