Kid Rock shows support for Trump at Republican National Convention on Thursday night

Kid Rock’s performance at the Republican National Convention caught much backlash on social media, with many on X, formerly Twitter, ripping it to shreds

Country rap star Kid Rock used his celebrity to show support for Republican nominee former President Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Thursday night.

Kid Rock brought the entertainment for the political event, using his hip-hop talent to get the crowd going as they were all gathered to champion Trump while runs against President Joe Biden for the White House. Although he gave his all during his performance, many were underwhelmed. On X, formerly Twitter, countless have slammed the show that the Biker Boyz actor out on at RNC.

“That kid rock performance was one of the worst things I have ever seen,” one X user wrote. Another added, “This is “kid’s birthday party” levels of sad for Kid Rock…”

A third raged, “I was enjoying the RNC until Kid Rock started this super cringe performance This is embarrassing.” Many more held the same sentiment on the social media platform. The mocking didn’t stop there. 

One claimed on X: “Kid Rock rapping over Metallica’s “Sad But True” at the RNC is the cheesiest, cringiest musical performance I’ve ever seen,” as another ranted: “That Kid Rock performance was terrible. I don’t even think Republicans can pretend to like that garbage. That should never happen again.”

Some even went as far as to call Kid Rock’s performance disastrous.

“Kid Rock performing in this white crowd was a disaster waiting to happen. I blame whoever is in charge,” one noted on X. Before his poorly received RNC performance there videos that emerged on social media of Kid Rock practicing a Trump-themed song on the RNC stage at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. 

Kid seemed stoked for the RNC, promoting his appearance online. The Cowboy rapper took to social media on Thursday afternoon to announce to his followers that he touched down in Milwaukee for the RNC. In the post, he let it be known that he fully backed Trump, who he deemed as a “tried and true, red white and blue, 100% American (expletive) president.” Kid also alluded to what he might do at the RNC.

“What’s (going to) happen tonight?” the singer-songwriter teased in the video, while donning a NRA (National Rifle Association) baseball hat. “Tune in to find out. But here’s a hint — are you scared?”
