Dallas Wings Star Suspended After Technical Foul Against Indiana Fever

Over the weekend, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever closed out regular season play at Gainbridge Fieldhouse with a 110-109 win over the Dallas Wings. The Fever sit at 20-19 on the season with one game remaining before the WNBA Playoffs.

Sure enough, McCowan picked up two techs throughout the game, one in the second quarter for arguing with the refs and one in the last seconds of the game for shoving Fever forward Aliyah Boston. McCowan was ejected for the final two seconds of the contest.

On Tuesday, the WNBA announced that McCowan will be suspended for Dallas’ final game of the season against the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday, September 19. To add insult to injury, the former Mississippi State star will not receive pay for the upcoming match.

Boston, who received a technical foul on the same play as McCowan, had her foul rescinded by the league, saving her from paying a $400 fine that comes with the tech.

McCowan has played in every game for the Wings this season. In 25.2 minutes per game, she is averaging 11.7 points and 8.1 rebounds. With Dallas officially eliminated from the playoffs, McCowan will have to wait until next season to return to the court
