Indiana Fever v Minnesota Lynx

WNBA fans react to Caitlin Clark’s flagrant foul vs Lynx

WNBA fans reacted to Caitlin Clark receiving a Flagrant 1 foul against the Minnesota Lynx. In a win against the Lynx, the Indiana Fever rookie was seen shoving Cecilia Zandalasini during a play.

During one of the plays in the game, Clark was dribbling the ball across the court. However, after finding her defender right in front of her, Clark changed lanes, dribbling the ball behind her back.

However, Zandalasini, in her effort to defend Clark, might have committed what appeared to be a foul. In reaction, the Fever rookie hit the Lynx player across the face and was later assessed a flagrant foul.

Reacting to the post by Hoop Central on X, formerly known as “Twitter,” some of the fans called it a violent play and some said that she should have been ejected.

As of today, between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark, there is no clear winner of the Rookie of the Year Award. While Reese has been having a dominant few weeks, Clark has been instrumental for her team, both as a scorer and as a facilitator. However, for South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley, Reese is ahead of Clark as of now.

Staley, who has previously praised Clark, currently said that Reese holds the edge over her Indiana Fever rival.

“They both are having great years. Don’t get me wrong,” Staley told TMZ Sports. “If I had to pick a Rookie of the Year at this time … today, it’s Angel. Not a doubt. What she’s been able to do with the double-doubles.”However, Staley also added that the 2024 No. 1 is quickly picking up and closing the gap.

“But listen, the season is halfway through, and Caitlin is coming.”After a slow start to the season, the Fever behind Caitlin Clark is ranked 7th in the league, right ahead of the Chicago Sky in the 8th spot. Staley also added that the decision about the winner would eventually come down to their team’s position.
