On Tuesday he wrote on X: “Eagles > Chiefs, Kanye > Taylor, who’s with me?”

It looked like Zach was trying to provoke a reaction from fans – but it didn’t go down well with the Swifties.

Zach has since taken a break from X, formerly Twitter, and has now issued an apology for his post.

In an earlier tweet, he took a subtle swipe at Taylor’s boyfriend Travis Kelce’s football team — “eagles > chiefs” — and then followed that with “Kanye > Taylor… Who’s with me.”

But he has now backtracked and said he is a fan of Taylor and was listening to her latest album The Tortured Poets Department.

He wrote in a follow-up tweet: “Guys I love Taylor.

“I was listening to TTPD [‘The Tortured Poets Department’] last night and Thank You Aimee came on and I drunkenly tweeted that about Kanye.

“If anyone took it serious please know I love both artists a lot and think we’re in a really beautiful time of music.”

He also wrote a heartfelt apology, saying: “For the record guys I wasn’t coming for Taylor the other night.

“I was drunkenly comparing two records and it came out wrong.

Taylor Swift’s ‘never looked happier’ but response to ‘incredibly fake’ contract with Travis is ‘try-hard,’ says PR pro
“I know there’s a lot of stuff that clouds around Ye and I was speaking purely musically. I love Taylor’s music and pray you guys know I’m human and tweet stupid things often.

“Hope one day I can explain this to her.

“Twitter gets me in trouble too much and I’d say it’s best I stay off it. I’m sorry to any Taylor fans I p***** off or let down.

“Love you guys and I’m trying my best!”

Zach continued, “I’ve been going through a hard time in my own life and I think I was projecting a little. To be completely honest, it just came off as rude and desensitized to Taylor.

“I respect her so much as a musician that the last thing I want is people thinking I don’t appreciate and love what she has done for music. … Don’t drink and tweet!!”

He went on to share another post. “Not saving face here, but Taylor has been a force of nature for as long as we’ve all been growing up and I admire that. I’m gonna go listen to this record now,” with a screenshot of Castles Crumbling featuring Hayley Williams.

“I never want people to think I have a hint of malice or meanness towards anyone, ever, that’s why I’m saying all this.

“Everyone have the best day of all time, I love ya.”

He further explained his error of judgement, saying: “This year has been an awful lot on me in personal ways that no one knows and I’ve been trying to cope and balance too many things at once.

“So I’m going to take a breather from stupid stuff, finish my tour, and ground myself somehow in the midst of all this.”

Over on Instagram, Zach made it clear he was more of a Kanye fan after he posted screenshots of three West songs he’d been regularly listening to on Spotify, including I Thought About Killing Somebody.

His X page currently states “This account does not exist.”

But the star can still reactivate his account within 30 days and many are convinced that he will be back on the platform.

Despite his controversial post, Zach may actually be a Swiftie deep down.

In an unearthed tweet from 2022, when Taylor’s album Midnights was released, Zach wrote: “Miss Swift what are the vibes at midnight good morning everybody and happy almost weekend, get in we’re going crying.”

When a fan asked his favorite Swift song, he said, “‘August,’ for sure.”

Taylor and Kanye have a complicated history and she seemingly shaded her nemesis in a new edition of her latest album.

In April, the pop music star released her 11th studio album The Tortured Poet’s Department, and clues in the song titles have led Swifties into a frenzy.

Just days after the initial release, Taylor, 34, released another version of the album titled The Anthology which featured 15 additional songs – including thanK you aIMee.

Fans were quick to notice that the only letters capitalized in the song was “KIM” seemingly referencing her years-long feud with Kim Kardashian, 44, who was married to Kanye, 47, from 2014 to 2022.

The Blank Space hitmaker then released another version of The Tortured Poet’s Department which includes the standard digital album plus thank You aimEe.

However, Taylor changed the capital letters around, instead of “KIM” it spelled “YE,” which is a name that Kanye uses.

HER REPUTATION

Their beef began at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards when Kanye interrupted Taylor during her winning speech for Best Female Video for You Belong With Me.

Kanye ran up, took the microphone from her, and exclaimed that Beyonce had “one of the best videos of all time.”

Things seemed to have died down over the years until the rapper released his 2016 track Famous, which featured the infamous lyric, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that b***h famous.”

During a phone call that was recorded by Kim, Kanye called Taylor to talk to her about the song.

While Taylor confirmed that the phone conversation happened, she did not approve of the “b***h” lyric – despite Kim saying otherwise.

“She totally approved that; she wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t,” Kim said in an interview.

Kanye also released a music video for the song that featured naked look-alikes of different political figures and celebrities – including Taylor.

In 2020, the full video of the phone conversation was leaked online, proving that Taylor was unaware of the lyric.

Other than thanK you aIMee, Taylor has seemingly referenced her feud with Kanye and Kim in other songs from her albums Reputation and Speak Now.
