WWE Superstar The Rock’s ex-wife, Dany Garcia, recently took to social media to send an emotional message to their daughter, Ava. The 22-year-old is the current NXT General Manager.
In 2020, Ava started training at the WWE Performance Center to pursue a career in professional wrestling. The Rock’s daughter joined the company’s developmental brand in 2022, where she was introduced as a member of Joe Gacy’s Schism. After the stable was disbanded in 2023, the 22-year-old star became the on-screen assistant of Shawn Michaels. However, in January 2024, she was promoted to the General Manager of NXT.
The Rock and Dany Garcia got married in 1997 and had their first child, Ava, in 2001. However, the couple separated in May 2008. Garcia recently took to her Instagram Stories to upload a throwback photo with her daughter, highlighting her and Ava’s current achievements.
“Future owner of the @ufl [with] the future GM of @wwenxt. GSTQ @avawwe,” she wrote.

Shawn Michaels was full of praise for The Rock’s daughter Ava
Ahead of NXT Stand and Deliver in April 2024, Shawn Michaels gave an interview in which he said Ava was doing a fantastic job as the NXT General Manager.
The Heartbreak Kid also mentioned that after her run as a member of Schism, he felt like it was time to give the 22-year-old a different opportunity.
“From a ring standpoint, we’ll wait and see on that, to be perfectly honest, because she is doing a fantastic job as GM,” Michaels stated. “It was something that I thought about a long time ago. It was one of those things where, ‘Okay, we’ll wait to see if that looks like it presents itself.’ After some time in the ring, and doing everything with Schism, it felt like it was time to go there. Her development has been fantastic. I’m very proud of her,” said Micheals.
It will be interesting to see if The Rock’s daughter, Ava, will ever return to in-ring competition in WWE.
